Outsourced Agency Bookkeeper

Full-Time | Remote

We are looking for an enthusiastic professional to join the KiteTech Agency Consulting Team! The purpose of the Outsourced Agency Bookkeeper position is to provide competent bookkeeping for KiteTech’s insurance agency clients who value quality Applied Epic bookkeeping but do not have the workload or inclination to hire and manage a full-time bookkeeper. The primary role of the Outsourced Agency Bookkeeper is to provide bookkeeping services to agencies including some that KiteTech is already engaged with for operations consulting or managed IT.

The Outsourced Agency Bookkeeper will work at the direction of a KiteTech accounting resource capable of identifying agency bookkeeping needs, directing the bookkeeper, and providing insight to the bookkeeper as necessary. While accounting expertise and management support is provided, the position requires day-to-day self-management skills.

Expectations and Responsibilities

  • Assist KiteTech accounting resource in determining agency’s bookkeeping needs and establishing a schedule and time commitment necessary to meet those needs.
  • Independently perform key bookkeeping tasks including entering receipts/disbursements, reconciling premium payables, reconciling bank statements, and performing month-end closing tasks including journal entries and reporting.
  • Manage companies, brokers, and vendors payables and/or work with client to coordinate payments.
  • Maintain knowledge of Applied Epic bookkeeping best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal team of Applied Epic consultants to confirm consistent delivery of service to clients.
  • Communicate regularly with client to discuss and resolve any issues to the satisfaction of the client.
  • Maintain real-time documentation of work activities for the purpose of recording progress and ensuring accurate client billing.

Ideal Candidate Requirements

  • 2+ years’ experience in the insurance agency industry working as a bookkeeper for an Applied EPIC agency

  • Some financial accounting experience or education outside the insurance industry

  • Proficient with general office applications

  • Experience successfully working autonomously and collaboratively with a team

  • Strong organizational and customer service skills

  • Willingness and experience employing all elements of virtual meeting tools (i.e. cameras, meeting software, self-service appointment setting) to maximize the virtual consulting experience for clients

  • Self-motivated and agile

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary:  $45,000 – $52,000 based on experience

  • Health: KiteTech pays 80% of total premium for employee and family

  • Paid Time Off
